With the real situation hiding under the thick fog of propaganda, the rapid collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 was totally unexpected by most Western experts and leaders. While some scholars and commentators discussed potential weaknesses of the Soviet system, few predicted its complete and swift demise.
Today the exact same situation is unfolding and while some journalists claim Russia can maintain their war economy and continue to pour billions into the war against Ukraine there are too many people closer to home predicting that the Russian economy will collapse even as soon as at the end of the year.
It’s a classic case of history repeating itself and the collapse with prove that the media who claim Putin could continue the war for longer really had no idea at all. The fog of propaganda not only fools outsiders but causes denial from within.
The collapse of Russia will be just as swift as the collapse of the USSR
