This chart clearly illustrates that China & India had the lions share of GlobalGDP until Waterloo (1818) when European powers that started to attack/carve up both India & China due to superior European War technology and navies.
Now fast forward to 2021: -China is the world's leader in manufacture & trade and rapidly catching up with the USA -The USA has accrued an unsustainable level of debt which will stymie future military budgets, IMO. -If the US increases its military spend, the it will have to cut back on social programs which, IMO, will cause domestic social unrest -China ship build is 3 times shorter than the USA
