IMO the US needs to reinvent itself from grassroots up
and Washington or Wall St can do the job for it.
In the late 19th C when the US was economically hitting its straps
industrialists were given enormous assistance from the States
& Washington via infrastructure etc 7 of course like China now,
the US was copying British & Eurpoean inventions.
Engines, cars trucks trains etc.

In summary, the USA gained global economic dominance via
its rapid industrialisation. Does that sound familiar now?
While WW1 economically wrecked Western Europe, the US
economically was the big beneficiary until Wall St collapsed
in 1929.
