I guess the new Nuke Sub alliance between the USA, UK & Aus with Japan likely to follow will firm up the anti-China alliance.
Pity that we have to wait until 2040 for the subs when China can build them in 4 years! IMO we were better off to buy them from the USA & cut a deal with our Iron Ore, met coal, rare earths & lithium so that we are not still as dependant on China trade wise.
Our security alignment with the USA if offset by the fact that the USA is our global competitor in most of our exports except iron ore. eg: coal, LNG, farm produce, wine lumber fish etc etc just look at the US China trade deal of 2 years ago where the USA has replaced out exports to China in farm produce fish wine and now coal with LNG to follow.
