Once again, it sits very high on top of the economic world.
Let's hope this time it utilises its economic power for the betterment of the world, and not just for its own selfish ends, as it has done in the past. But I have my doubts, as talking to two Germanacquaintances, I get the strong impression they believe that Germany only lost the last war through sheer bad luck!
And can we be sure that in the event of a repeat of Germany's belligerence in two world wars, the USA will intervene, once more, on behalf of its European allies?
