perhaps slightly over the top. but all in all a good manifesto. propose the following amendment:
Financial death to all shortsellers, ban should stay forever. ;)
on a serious note, what has been pissing me off about the shortselling strategies of recent 12 months is that ratehr than playing the stock, they are playing the man. ie, shorting to a level which forces holders to dump due to factors only tangentially related to the stock itself (eg leverage of the holder). Whilst "knocking out stoplosses" has long been a strategy in futures, its pretty novel to see it in equities.
i have no problem with shorting, as a hedge, or shorting via CFD's. But the brute force of dumping stock on market just to move the price below someone's selling point is in my view value destructive.
...but thats just my humble opinion
