Have a look at this table here. Data from Germany. The column Cq >25 <30 in particular. Most of those tests are a joke at best. How in the world were they allowed onto the market in the first place? And why can't we get in?

Then, in one of our target regions (Thailand), the most popular expat twitter personality with close to 200K followers is promoting 49 baht ($2) Chinese tests from 7-11. In particular, his latest post concerns the Xiamen Boson Biotech Co., Ltd product listed in that table. 43.5% sensitive at Cq >25.
He's usually good, but when it comes to the RATS, he's an absolute moron. As you can see, any criticism of the test is not allowed and you are boxed into the "covid is a hoax" crowd if you dare say anything about it. In fact, don't even bother replying.
Another thing about these tests is that they have the EU packaging featuring 'Lotus NL BV' which is the Netherlands distributor. This would suggest reject EU stock that isn't wanted due to not being effective, or old excess stock that was sitting in China. Even worse.
what really shits me though is that the test was registered by 2 entities:
บริษัท ชอบไทย จำกัด
and
บริษัท เวเกอร์อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (ไทยแลนด์) จำกัด
Hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen.
One is a shopping company - Shop Thai Co., Ltd. - https://www.jatujakmall.com/
And the other - Veger Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. - http://www.vegerthailand.com/
And we can't even get ours approved? Looks like they don't give a shit who distributes what.
There are now 149 Professional use RATs approved by the Thai FDA. I've watched it grow since the list had about 3 on there. Our ability to get things done in this type of an environment is non-existent. Yes yes, we need the TGA approval first apparently. But do we really? I can't be bothered verifying that right now but trust me, the answer is no either way. This could've been solved a long time ago very easily. Do I encourage it? when 149 other POC tests go to market and random companies are distributing useless RATs, the answer is yes.
