So zinc was the worst commodity to be in the past 12 months...down 37%. Some analysts are predicting a surplus next year. My gut feeling is that zinc could be the best performing metal the next 12 months. Supply will lag, as it inevitably does. Inflation and costs of production will drive metal prices higher and higher. We are in that phase of the cycle. Demand is being underestimated. My guess is that zinc will reach new peaks in 2008. Could be wrong; often am...but are these analysts closer to the action thatn the CEO's of the major miners. I think not. Most of them are barely able to drag their sorry butts out of bed each morning.
