Elsewhere I'm dabbling with in-and-out quick trades and have been doing pretty well, but it is more casino than investing. A good while back, I made a killing (about $200k) trading in and out of an option, then converted the options and sold out very happy. About 10 years later, the company was bought out and I realised that if I had held onto my stock, it would have been worth $3m at that point. I guess that is the moral of this thread.
Quite a long time ago, I became convinced by the VRX story and have built up a fair holding (for me anyway) which is currently in the red. This one does seem to have gone to sleep, but I am convinced that the announcements will start flying thick and fast fairly soon as MLs are awarded and construction orders are placed etc.
The initial re-rate may be modest, but I'm confident that VRX will become a multi-dollar share over a couple or so years. Maybe 2 years to $2 and 5 to $5. When I got a bit hit under the collar and cranked some spread-sheets I was looking at double figure sp and endless rivers of gold dividends. We may get there yet!
I expect some more roller coaster activity once things kick off with heart-stopping plunges after eye-popping climbs. TBH this torpor is dragging on me a bit, but it won't be long.
