    I agree with your assessment that gender imbalance was a key factor (though not the key factor) in the breakoff of the Teal vote from the Coalition support base. But saying "this tells me all that is necessary" vis a vis the recent result is complete garbage, as it only applies because you know which party the result belonged to. If you didn't know which result the party came from, you wouldn't be auto-ascribing the result to gender discrimination. That's as open and shut a case of one-eyedness as there is.

    Just don't overreach, Scott, is all I'm saying. You hate the Liberal Party, I get it. You hate the gender imbalance in representation, I get that too. But don't criticise the result of a particular preselection vote when you have no clue as to the credentials of each candidate. Doing so only champions quotas, which by definition are able to break with democracy and force a choice based on gender rather than merit.
