Cookie Man expands internationally after Indian success

Sydney - Tuesday - November 20: (RWE Aust Business News) - Allied
Brands (ASX:ABQ) will launch its Cookie Man brand in three new countries
by the end of 2008.
Allied Brands is assessing applicants for franchises in Malaysia,
Cyprus, Canada, England, Dubai, UAE, Japan, Spain, Thailand and Russia.
International enquiries have followed the Cookie Man's
performance in India where it was earlier this year named Specialty
Retailer for 2006.
Cookie Man has 28 stores in India with another five due to open
by March next year.
"We are now assessing the international applications and intend
to finalise arrangements for at least three new countries to open stores
by the end of 2008," managing director Peter Elligett said.
"At the same time, we will continue with accelerated expansion
plans for Cookie Man in Australia."
Cookie Man was acquired by Allied Brands earlier this year and
has 49 outlets in Australia and one in Singapore.
