The core questions must be posed about the Caliphate

We see global movements calling for the 'return' of the Caliphate (or Khilafah) - Islamic State.

They claim that it is a striving towards the return of an Islamic State in the Muslim World because such a state no longer exists in the present day.

There is the forked tongue definition of what a Caliphate actually means and where it will be - is it just targeting a part of say, the Middle East, or is it targeting all of the world? Or is it targeting only Muslims and their culture wherever they live?

The 'Muslim World' is often referenced as the answer to where the Caliphate will be...such a nebulous phrase that is deliberately vague.

These are the questions that need to be put to groups like Hizb ut-Tahrir when their representative are interviewed like that Wassim Doureihi the other evening. We need to flush out from them their goal, so that there is no question that they are preaching anarchy everywhere.

If Hizb ut-Tahrir claim that they are seeking a Caliphate only in the Middle East, would they then preach that all Muslims immigrate to this Caliphate? If only this were true, but it is not.

It is very clear that the Caliphate is a striving for the spread and domination of Islam globally.

"The Liberation Party | Britain" - this says it all!

And from the Australian Hizb ut-Tahrir website:

    http://www.hizb-australia.org/hizb-ut-tahrir/about-us

"Its aim is to resume the Islamic way of life and to convey the Islamic da'wah to the world. This objective means bringing the Muslims back to living an Islamic way of life in Dar al-Islam and in an Islamic society such that all of life's affairs in society are administered according to the Shari'ah rules, and the viewpoint in it is the halal and the haram under the shade of the Islamic State, which is the Khilafah State. That state is the one in which Muslims appoint a Khaleefah and give him the bay'ah to listen and obey on condition that he rules according to the Book of Allah (swt) and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saw) and on condition that he conveys Islam as a message to the world through da'wah and jihad.

The Party, as well, aims at the correct revival of the Ummah through enlightened thought. It also strives to bring her back to her previous might and glory such that she wrests the reins of initiative away from other states and nations, and returns to her rightful place as the first state in the world, as she was in the past, when she governs the world according to the laws of Islam.

It also aims to bring back the Islamic guidance for mankind and to lead the Ummah into a struggle with Kufr, its systems and its thoughts so that Islam encapsulates the world."

There are conferences all over the world at the moment discussing and calling for the Caliphate. They are gaining traction among Muslims everywhere. Who are these Muslims? The apologists amongst us might argue that they are a minority and that the average Muslim is not seeking a Caliphate in the places where they live.

June 2013 - Around 130,000 Muslims attended the biggest Khilafah conference in Islamic history in Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia

Hizb ut-Tahrir held the conference titled “Big change of the World towards Khilafah”. Prior to this, 30 regional conferences were organized by HT Indonesia in various stages during the month of Rajab.
The conference included speakers and participants from around the globe including Australia, Lebanon, Europe, Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan and elsewhere.
The main message of the conference was that the world is experiencing a great and imminent transition towards the Islamic Khilafah. This theme allowed for a number of topics to be addressed and some exploration of issues such as secular liberalism, democracy, capitalism, and then subsequently looking at the Khilafah as an alternative solution.
