I don't know how/why it happened but I found myself trying to pick the bottom. This is a mug's game. The trend is clearly down and I should be only trading shorts at the moment.
But to address your question: I'd wait for a clear 'higher low' pivot on the daily before going long again. We're miles off that. All the failed breakouts in the last few weeks will make people very wary of buying trendline breaks. That's where I went wrong.
