Thanks Makingmoneystill . I should have stipulated in my question that I was talking about super annuation policies like MLC or Sunsuper rather than SMF's.
My wife has moved from shares to cash in her fund once before and she was asking my advice should she move to cash again in view of this correction in US markets .
If there is an indication of a crash such as 2007 then it may well be as well to change over but in view of really lousy interest rates I am reluctant to advise her to do so unless wiser heads on this forum think it may be necessary even if just a precaution.
