The article below was in yesterdays West Australian Business section. Kalium Lakes approximately 300 km as the 'crow flies' from APC's site. - so not far at all.
Keeping in mind these sites are a part of a larger inter-connected palaeo channel, it truly is only a short matter of time before APC is on par with Kalium Lakes
Kalium Lakes already have a ten year 100% binding offtake with K+S making the rest of the potash market up for grabs. Wont be long before APC SP catches up. GLTA

    Kalium keeps kicking goals

Kalium Lakes is set to make a final investment decision to become Australia’s first commercial-scale sulphate of potash producer after securing key backing from the German Government.

The country’s export credit agency Euler Hermes has guaranteed 50 per cent of a $102 million loan from German development bank KfW.

Combined with a $74 million loan from the Federal Government’s Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility, the funding provides the bulk of the cash needed for Kalium’s $216 million Beyondie project, 160km south-east of Newman.

The balance of the funds are likely to be raised via an equity issue.

The company says it expects to make a final investment decision on the 90,000-tonnes-a-year project before the end of September.

Kalium has already awarded key contracts for the project, including $60 million for the construction and commissioning of a purification plant on site, $15 million for the supply and installation of pond liners as well as road haulage and gas supply contracts.

The company has secured State and Federal environmental approval for Beyondie, has native title agreements signed and mining tenure granted.

It has also struck an offtake agreement covering 100 per cent of its product from stage one of the project to German chemicals giant K+S.

Kalium is one of a handful of aspiring local producers of sulphate of potash racing to become the first to market.

Its shares lost 4¢, or 6 per cent, to 66.5¢ after touching an all-time high of 72¢ in intraday trade.
