Pet bug: why do we have Australian Standards? If products meet American or European standards which cover nearly a billion people what is so special about Australia with 26 million people. Shall we have a Tonga Island Standard or a Woop Woop Standard. I have tried talking to a polly about this and it was like having a conversation with a brick. To try to change or update the standard is hopeless no matter how sensible your request, the States blame the Fed the Fed blames the States now we’re talking to a pile of bricks. The pollies don’t understand that their job is to put the infrastructure in place to make society work better for the people. If you ask them to change something the first thing they do is refer the question to the public service. I have never met an entrepreneurial public servant, that’s a conflict of terms lol.
