So - under the Guinea mining Code you can only renew an Exploration Permit a certain amount of times before
A - The Permit lapses - in which case the govt can throw the permit area open to tenders for a new permit or
B - the Permit Holder lodges an application for an Exploitation Permit which includes several mandatory documents including a PFS.
Our Exploration Permit is due expire this year. Clearly a mining asset (5moz+) yet strangely there we were, happily fluffing about late last year spending our time preparing Scoping Studies (which were never going to be sufficient for an Exploitation Permit application) when all of a sudden, bang we are doing a PFS, background environmental monitoring and all the other stuff required to submit an Exploitation Application.
Coincidence - doubt it. It has all the hallmarks of a "friendly" nudge!!!
