You're right connie..... its a good job that the Fed Gov. weren't taking charge of the nation as the states/territories were more ardent in the management and adhering to medical advice (ex. NSW where medical advice is reluctantly taken into account).
Hence the S/Ts have done a (mostly) excellent job of protecting Aus citizens.
The NZ Gov. has much broader and stronger support. Sensible people those kiwis ;-)
As for NSW, I think Gladys is just fed-up with the pressure from business lobbyists being contrary to medical advice, the scrutiny of journalists, the criticism and all the various extraneous matters such as Glad's bed-fellow implicating her in his ICAC issues. And the shortage of vaccines!
