Another story I heard goes like this.
A man borrows everything he possibly can from the bank and starts to build his dream home. He decides he wants more space and extra garage space, so he goes back to the bank manager. The bank manager says no to any extra borrowing. "we have signed an agreement and you said the house would be built for X"
The man is furious and stomps his foot. "But you gave me money for a small house, why not give me more money for a big house. Isn't it the same thing?" The bank manager says "You haven't built the first house, come back when you have a track record of coming good on your promises and I will be able to look at your proposal"
After a long discussion the bank manager agrees a new loan is reasonable and lends him the funds on the basis that there is no more lending.
He gets a little frustrated when the man returns four more times to increase his borrowing.
