It would be interesting to see a more detailed analysis based on other factors to see if there are any statistical links between immigration/ethnic minorities and crime.
For example, the link provided earlier doesn't differentiate between types of crime. Violence and sexual assault is more likely to get a strong public response (like this thread!) as opposed to some small-time fraud or tax evasion.
We don't get that out of this link but would be interesting to find out more. We also don't get any trends so cant measure change.
