This is a currency thing - CSL earnings are in USD dollars and therefore inversely proportional to movements.
Some rough numbers from last peak til now
4/15/20 - CSL Price $330 AUD:USD 0.6322
22/7/20 - CSL Price $283 AUD:USD 0.7138
Delta Exchange rates 12.9%
Delta CSL price -14.2%
No manipulation at play, simply the market doing its thing and chugging along.
AUD to USD approaching 5 year average and RBA would prefer to see the dollar trend lower based on yesterdays meeting. Currency risk still exists with USA printing money however exports/commodity prices (in particular iron ore) tipped to weaken so that should see the AUD dollar stabilise/weaken. Make of that information what you will.
