True , but I'm more interested in the protection we have from them now rather than historically .

PS Taking nothing away from the yanks but the Aussies were the first to defeat the Japs on land in WW2 at Milne Bay .(US intel did pre-warn.)
Also they tried a company of yanks on the Kokoda track but they found it to tough and had to be taken off without seeing action so THAT was left to our boys .
