    Socrates, in Plato's Republic, desired a benign dictatorship and considerable censorship. The Republic was Socrates ideas on what he considered a perfect system of governance.

    "scripture"? no.... not pseudo gods.... Socrates declaimed the gods as a fantasy.... he was an atheist. What he argued for was understanding the collective (socialist) wisdom of precedent philosophers, including the Stoics.....

    Socrates also supported an elitism which did allow slaves to be freed by their masters/owners, and the possibility that former slaves could eventually attain wealth and property, so enabling the more entrepreneurial to gain citizenship and admission to the role of Senators.
