been reading a lot of posts about Dec 25 and donkeys and nativity scenes and they are all missing the point,
it's totally irrelevant when Christ was born,
it's totally irrelevant who was at the scene,
it's totally irrelevant whether it was a manger or a hospital.
what is important is that CHRIST DIED FOR US,
Romans 5 8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us
1 john 1 7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
John 3 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
the bible has plenty of verses telling us that Christ died
for us, but there is no verse telling us to celebrate his birthday.
P.S.
Jerome you say in post 11942
i have noticed that debating Christianity... it usually ends up with them trying belittle your character
That's a joke right? after all the times that you guys have been insulting Christians and Christianity, surely you can't be that blind to all the mud you throw.
it is not a sin to celebrate the birth of Christ, but instead of getting hung up on it, just remember the reason WHY HE WAS BORN, the when and how are irrelevant.
