The David Unaipon Pipeline was officially opened today by the PM, “and not a moment too soon,” he said to a hot and flustered audience.

Shorten said on a sweltering 48 degree day marred by hot swirling winds, “….this life giving pipeline is the first to provide water security for people on the eastern seaboard and to double the production of clean food of the Murray Darling Basin"

"We are also here to acknowledge the genius of the first Australians who cared for our land for 60,000 years."

He added, “but this is just the first of many pipelines, and within a century, every town in the country will have water security,’ said Shorten who won his second term in office by a landslide due to his aggressive climate change policies.

“Nowadays no one disputes the world has been gripped by climate change brought on by human activity, and fortunately we have several northern regions that are getting wetter.”

“The Ord reservoir has overflowed for the first time and within 5 years water will be piped to Tennant creek and then down to Alice Springs.”

“We are fortunate to be blessed with a range of climes ,and we can now repay the world for our past as one of the greatest CO2 emitting countries per capita.”

“We accept our failings and will receive a minimum of 10 million environmental refugees over the next two decades, but we know there will be many more due to rising seas."

"By then all the pipeline projects will be completed and the interior of the vast land will be transformed."

“It may be hotter, but we re-green the landscape, and shocking dust storms that have paralysed parts of the country will be a thing of the past.”

" By then Australia will be able to carry a population of at least 100 million."

The crowd applauded and quickly rushed to the nearest air-conditioned building!
