Well that's four weeks now that the 44% Mn price has stayed around the US$7.86 mark so the volume at this new price point is getting larger.
As per 18 October 2020, E25 has confirmed that pricing is Fast Markets version of 44% prices, while other versions of 44% pricing movements exist, its the Fast Markets one that counts.
What is interesting is that Asian Markets pricing for 37% grade Manganese hasn't seen the same increase as 44% grade Manganese. There is something about the 44% that is sufficiently desirable that the premium gap between the two grades is increasing. This is good news for E25 with their off-take agreement linked to 44%, but it would be good to understand why the pricing gap between 37% and 44% is widening. The lack of any substantial CIF price increase could be a problem for South African exporters with their longer shipping distances to Asia.
