E25 is at least following this development, if not somehow linked to it. Unicore is developing HLM (High Lithium Manganese) batteries in Ontario. With Unicore having links to LG Chem and LG Chem having links with GM there is a possible (but tenuous) link back to this project. Even if there is no direct link, the development work on 65% manganese batteries is interesting.
