Presume recent insane rise due to china power cuts + adding shipping cost to price, so user pays BS transport cost, not manufacturers. I think they are not going to pursue EMM to start with, however given stratospheric prices, they might reconsider adding the electric shock step to make pure metal, who knows....
if I were JB I would start tomorrow making batches manually using couple of oil drums and a kitchen blender, then using a defibrillator to get EMM flakes
