Not an excuse whatsoever.
Jesus says, those that don't believe his words are doing this because, your not of the Father and he also says, the sheep hear my voice.
John has many of these types of verses and I for one will not flush them down the toilet.
I provided you with clear verses showing, You are trying to align Two subjects and say they are one, when it is Clearly in your face, they are Not = Hence your either being stubborn or whatever or not seeing what's in front of you.
I always look to the Bible for answers when people make such strange interpretations.
The Bible also shows, that those that fall away from some of the key basic truths, will receive delusions and Will believe lies.
It doesn't say maybe, but WILL. So if that be the case, no matter what or how many verses one puts in front of them, they will not see it.
Now I don't know if your read my post to Mr G, the the light subject re-John 1:9, now I only put a snippet of support verse there, compared to what's available. To me, it's a done and dusted answer as to who is the true light in John 1:9.
So lets see, if at all, what his reply is.
If he disagrees, then Clearly something is wrong, based on the Bible and not wotsup.

MrGordon. wotsup,
Given you opposing doctrinal/theological views I wonder how you would reconcile these verses with your own views derived from the bible.
John 1
New International Version (NIV)
18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[b ] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
NWT
18 No man has seen God at any time;+ the only-begotten god+ who is at the Father’s side* + is the one who has explained Him.+
