So two Independents made a decision clearly against the wishes of their electorates and the People of Australia to give their vote of confidence to a Gillard Labor Government.

Don't bother supporting their own electorates' wishes which had Labor a miserable third in the primary vote behind the Coalition? If we distributed the preferences of those who voted for these two Independents Labor would have been absolutely slaughtered by the Coalition. Just think of thousands of angry voters in those two electorates who will clearly have a sense of betrayal.

If I understand correctly what has been reported these two Independents were also fully aware that if a new election was held now the Coalition would win .. but heh .. who cares about real democracy?

Spin a lot of hot air that was sickening to listen to as they tried to justify what cannot be justified. Returning to power an absolutely incompetent rabble of a Government that lost 16 seats as it was soundly rejected by the People of Australia in the election, and ended up with less than 40% of the primary vote.

So we end up with a Gillard Government against the wishes of the People of Australia courtesy of 2 Independents who clearly by their demeanour imo were enjoying their hour in the Australian and international spotlight.

That's surely the day democracy died in Australia.
