The folks on site say the plant cannot run for more than 3 days continuously and its only done that once. The rest of the time 1 or 2 days and then has to shut down.
Beardy do what I did ring the process manager at Rocklands. I rang a few months back. Ask for Ross, he is the process manager. If he is not available ask an operator, ask the Directors of CDU. Ask anyone that works on the site. Ill make a statement now: The Process Plant at Rocklands will not achieve 3mtpa within the next 6 months. It will not even make half of that.
Beardy if it does I will eat humble pie. That means if it does then the company has been take over by another group. That is the only way it will do it. A full rebuild and rubber linings instead of mild steel.
The plant and the management are all Lemons. See if Im right.
Why do you think the company has not given the reason for only achieving 1/5th of capacity. Just total deafening silence. The ore is stacked up waiting, if the plant is not a lemon Beardy then why isnt it treating 3mtpa.
Why get Andy Mining up there to mine more ore when the process plant can even treat what it has stockpiled over the next 3 years??
As you would know Beardy, Sinosteel also built the Clive Palmer/Citic iron ore plant in WA as well. $14B over budget and still not going after 5 years. Spits out enough to fill only two ships a year. .
I reckon its getting worse not better.
