Yes, possibly, it's hard to say, it will depend on how much product is being bought as a matter of brand differentiation, as opposed to how much product is being bought as a matter of being confidently and assuredly stamped with NZ made safety and quality.
At the end of the day, it's the quality marks that mothers seem to want, and we know they will pay more for NZ quality marks over Chinese marks.
And, if they can buy those same quality marks at a lower price point, over time, that is where the market will lean toward.
Interestingly, Akarola, Gold and Pinrise brands carry the "Synlait Sure" quality mark, a2 platinum does not.
That's something which A2M should sort out with Synlait going forward, I hope they can do so, particularly so when the second round of Chinese quality regulations are about to come into play about now.
