Well I personally have gained a lot from the arguments in the past few months; significantly from Yak, minimally from snooker and to a greater or lesser degree from many others. I appreciate Groundzero's balance (even if he spells poultry with an "a")
Muslims were getting the full blast of prejudice and this was being inflamed by opportunists pushing ideological and racist interests. Multiculturalism was being dragged into the firing line and White Australia was being paraded as the lost nirvana.
The fact is that no peoples are better or worse than any others although they all contain sick and criminal elements. Multiculturalism is the only system with a future. Tolerance is the only environment that defuses racial violence. If we lose sight of these things our world will deteriorate slowly but surely into chaos.
