In these last two weeks gone by, I suffered indeed my biggest loss to date.

Nope - Im not talking financially...(and yeah there have been some plays I've had that were a 100% loss).

    I'm talking to my heart.

I lost my absolute number one inspiration in life, my dad.

I have on a few occasions in the last week thought, would I really share this at HC, SHOULD I really share this at HC...is it relevant?

But to me, it is highly relevant, it couldn't be any more relevant. Why?

Because I learnt so much from him and because of that, I have a propensity, a tendency to share with YOU!

He was a superb Biology/Chemistry and Physics teacher. He taught Year 11/12 but also Physics lectures to First Year Nurses back in the day.

His Teaching career spanned more than 44 years.

Now there are teachers and there are teachers. What separated him materially is the fact that he was one that would make the content, though it could be heavy, dry and intangible (have YOU ever seen an electron?)...he made it interesting by examples. Lots of stories...the kids would actually want to go to the next class.

How about this for a story....When I was a teenager a number of moons ago, I was walking with mum and dad and we came across a family, the father of the family spoke to my dad for a few mins and then left...I asked dad what was all that about and he said "That man's father was my student!".

So enthused that original student was that he had told his son about my dad the teacher....and even though the son had never met him, his reputation preceded him and he knew who my dad was and what he had done for his dad and how well he had taught him.

My house is now full of flowers and a lot of them are actually from past students. My feed from FB (I barely use it ever..but my phone lit up) has comment after comment with hearts and how he was the particular commentator's/poster's best teacher ever...

I had forgotten a number of stories but get this, he once put together a small booklet on heart disease, causes, symptoms and current remedies as an educational tool kit for a small community from where my dad was from originally.

Mate, I had a tear (or seven) in my eye when an uncle reminded me of that. Its like a full circle on understanding of where and what I love (eg telling you about the science of Pentosan), actually comes from.

I love nothing more than explaining our drug, how it works, the biology around it. It's is thrilling to me to realise just how wonderful what you and I own, and actually is. And when I learn of a new patient and their experience with iPPS...well that's thrilling. I have a yearning to speak infront of an audience (though I'm always nervous at the start of any public speaking) and explain just WHY our iPPS is better than the rest. Just HOW it works....and just WHAT are the extremely positive results.

I have a desire to speak to new potential investors and easily convince them of what we have and WHY it is the potentially most prolific drug on the planet.

So why the dedication? Why now?

Because after 91 years spanning a number of different schools from the poorest of the poor to the cream of society...my farther passed last week.

I totally dedicate all my past publications and research to him but also the future ones. He was my driving force and he always will be. I've been a bit of a mess specially just after the news and the odd day here and there since his passing, but my inspiration burns all the more brightly, all the more resolutely.

Pardigmers, my dad's funeral was today and while it was terribly hard, it was the most lovely send off. The stories I heard of my dad from others just in the last week is truly inspirational, I just want to be a small fraction of what he was.

The other link is the fact that he was a shareholder. I was very happy to keep him duly informed with the progress and tell him a summary of my research and what this drug is actually capable of. I remember how intently he listened to the science.

There is so much more to come Paradigmers, but of course first step for progress now is funding. Lets see how we go.

(My personal views, it isn't advice)

    Cheers

PS: Having a quiet glass of fine red tonight in his honour.

PPS: More to come...I'll be back on the research bandwagon soon!
