The battery pack in that EQE was an NCM (Nickle Cobalt Manganese Lithium Ion) produced by Farasis Energy, a Chinese company with links to Daimler. They have already had several recalls for faulty cells but thankfully their batteries are not fitted to European Benzes. China seems to have the production of the more tolerant LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells sorted out but may not be so good with the higher specific power but more temperamental chemistries.
