Yep.
I remember well when everyone called it Jap Crap.
Now Toyota are probably the best built cars in the world.
The current generation of Chinese cars (EV and ICE), are still not on par.
If you think they are, you are easily pleased by mediocrity and clearly not really into cars.
But I've no doubt the next gen will genuinely be as good as existing OEMs, and be a more compelling new car proposition to the doubters, but likely not the racists.
