Quite so, Gio. Long term the legacy manufacturers are screwed. Over the next decade countries like Oz; countries with little or no car manufacturing industries or tariffs will replace their fleets with better quality, cheaper Chinese E vehicles (no contest with extremely expensive poor-quality ICE). As insular as they are the average American will see this transformation in other countries and complain about the disparity of choice, quality and cost at the expense of protecting a dying industry that has no hope of competing with China in this sector. Ultimately, the US government and unprofitable legacy manufacturers will have no choice but to capitulate, or risk looking like a surreal version of Cuba to the rest of the world.
