    Ahhh, who can forget Evergrande.
    I'd been to China 20 times for business between 2006-2019, and the prolific building that was going on was clearly unsustainable, even back then.
    Lot's of empty residential towers in literal ghost towns that remained empty years after being built, so it's no surprise where the Chinese EV story is heading with a local market becoming saturated, and dumping these rust buckets on other countries becomes harder with new tariffs.

    Evergrande gets a mention in this recent piece:

    And for the armchair experts here that have never been to China, the pollution was so bad in Beijing even in 2012 (where your eyes would be stinging after being outside for only 30 minutes or so), China HAD to do something about their pollution problem. So EVs became a requirement for ongoing human health. India is heading down that path too. For the rest of World, it's just BS greenwashing.
