i see it as a trade war going on , us and europe imposed heavy ev tariffs and china has countered by not buying anything on spot market hence driving down the spot price which influences offtake pricing ( usa imposed tariffs china says fine we will make it up in cheaper lithium prices ), china is still taking all the spodumene they can get under existing offtake deals they still want the product just inflicting financial pain to western miners so the industry delays its growth plans imho
