why would it EVER need 1000 chargers?
does it already have 1000 car wash bays and 1000 toilets?
Do you refuel your car every time you go to the shops?
Most cars are in use for about 20 years before they are retired. So any new ICEs hitting the road now will be around for two decades. And people are still buying ICEs, so we can easily expect a significant number of ICEs to be around for 3 or 4 decades. After that they will be like horse and buggys today - ie curiosities, or with die-hards.
I think you are being pedantic about Piffins' claims that everybody will be driving EVs - surely you can see that most people will be driving EVs, and effectively it is the same as saying nobody goes by horse anymore.
You also imply that meeting the demand for charging will be impossible. That is the same as saying 100 years ago that if everybody then switched from horses to cars then it would have been impossible to provide all the fuel.
As more EVs are sold the infrastructure will increase in parallel - as has happened with ICEs. You think that is impossible?
