ICE vehicle manufacturing is slated to cease so eventually new ones will be unavailable. Though there are murmurings that 2040 date will be extended. Hybrids being the reason.
So yes decades before we don't see ICE vehicles on our roads.
My dispute of the, everyone will be driving an EV is that there are many 50+ year olds that will never buy one.
My brother and I between us have 8 children, only 4 drive. Some of their friends also don't drive. Finance, registration, insurance, running costs are an expense that more and more of the younger generation are deciding to opt out of.
I turn 60 in 3 years and will retire. I'll buy a new or newish vehicle and do the grey nomad thing. It won't be an EV.
I've been a PLS SH for many years, average buy price 36 cents. Had 800k shares at one point but sold 1/2 @$4.95 then sold a 65k at $4 so down to 335k.
Back in those low price days I was saying the same as you, ICE will be on our roads for decades to come.
