With hurricane Helene gone, hurricane Milton is headed towards the Florida area.
Helene demonstrated how useless EVs truly are in the time of a disaster.
Too bad if you need to charge the thing and the power is down.
And this assumes it doesn't catch fire due to water ingress into the "sealed" battery pack.
Normal people would be prepared with jerry cans of petrol for their ICE vehicles and backup generators.
And if the ICE car gets flooded, well it's probably a write-off, but at least it won't burn your house down as well.
Two weeks on, and Mericans with EVs are being warned again about lithium-ion batteries.
It will be interesting to see how EVs catch fire due to Milton.
