I wonder if Blackout Bowen and the dopey Greens ever considered that the "poles and wires" infrastructure would never support "everybody" having an EV charging at home???
Especially in the peak evening period when people are getting home and preparing dinner.
That's assuming you don't live in a high density residential block that has banned EV charging, because the fire suppression cannot possibly deal with thermal runaway events.

When were the poles & wires put in, in your street?
Back when the 2.4kW electric kettle (than ran for a few minutes only) was probably the most power hungry device in your home.
And when can we say enough suburbs will get upgraded capacity feeding their area?
Safe to say, it will never happen.
And now this....
https://www.thebrighterside.news/post/scientists-caution-against-charging-electric-vehicles-at-home-overnight/
"A new study in Applied Energy from Stanford University sounds the alarm. “We must move away from our current model of overnight home charging,” the researchers argue. Without change, the rapid growth in EVs could do more harm than good."
But wait.... a home BESS is the ideal solution, any EVangelist will tell you.Two Homes Just Exploded
The Hidden Danger in Battery Storage!
And what a muppet for trying to repurpose some old Tesla batteries - LOL!!!!
But closer to home...
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-04-14/insurance-industry-worried-about-lithium-battery-fires/105160348
Home insurance policies will need to differentiate between those whose have a lithium-ion BESS on the side of their house, an EV, an electric scooter, and those that don't.
High risk vs less risk.
Sodium-ion home BESS perhaps, and from a company in QLD?

For off-grid use only at the moment, but wait for it.
When will lithium be relegated back for use in small devices only like phones and laptops etc?
