Of wind resistance: In a past life I had the contract with a State parks department capturing and moving animals to different habits. The separate translocation contract I negotiated specified the use of Parks vehicles, Landcruiser ute's. The loads, consisting of boxed animals barely weighed a total load of 350kg's, but due to stacking criteria said boxes rose just less than a metre above the vehicle's roofline - creating considerable wind resistance.
Just that wind resistance alone added circa 1/3rd to the fuel consumption. Accurate, given all records of individual translocation trips, daily milage and fuel purchases dockets were audited at the completion of the contract.
In any case, a good demonstration of how much pure wind resistance matters, given the negligible 350kg load.
