I disagree. Most people in regional locations have off street parking, high solar penetration and can easily charge overnight for their average km travelled per day by EV. Yes, the cost of EV's is currently not there but either was a color tv cheap when they first came to market.

I think everyone has to be realistic here. Until this year, Australia had an anti EV government. OEM's steered clear of Australia with EV offerings and they were vocal about why. Of course the infrastructure build has been delayed because of that also. The fact that Australia doesn't have emissions regulations means OEM's will continue to dump their can old polluting models into Australia while they can will delay EV adoption for the masses here.

Here is the map of the current and planned Electric Super Highway of Queensland. These are government funded fast chargers. The green flags are phase 3 and under construction. Cloncurry and Hughenden are now in I believe. Add to this other private charging stations (another map that I haven't included) and the network is going ok when you consider the current EV penetration %. On the Bruce Highway recently, the number of EV's I saw was astounding. Time to get on the disruption. It is happening. Wait until offerings like the Rivian and Ford F150 Lightning start hitting our shores.
