I believe these pictures have a lot more to do with ride-sharing fleets than anything else. The demise of that business proposition was just that, a failed model in which to provide transportation to the masses in China.
Not sure how you extrapolate that failed endeavor with EV adoption worldwide, but so be it.
I was discussing how the adoption rate is skyrocketing (notwithstanding the tiny sliver of the market who have and will probably always have a reason not to make the switch), and how similar this reluctance by some reminds me of when phones ate a giant share out of the pc/laptop market, and the mfg's swore it wouldn't happen.
I am astounded at the adoption rate, even in very right wing enclaves in places like northern Idaho, and Alaska in the us
In Brazil it's just wide open euphoria, according to members of my family who live there.
