AEMO have mapped out the future. Renewables, EV's and battery storage are front and centre.

Many studies completed and by 2050, net zero, Australia will need to almost double electricity capacity to electrify everything, not just transport. Remember, all those extra EV's plugged into the grid, also act as storage and optimised residential microgrids with V2G, are a big part of the future.

Over and over, this subject has been discussed and folk make statements with no substance to back up their opinions on a subject. Now I'm not saying they do it deliberately but making statements without studying a broad range of technical studies completed, spreads misinformation.

Best all the EV and Renewables naysayers get over it. It's happening and will continue to happen at an accelerating rate, whether they like it or not.

There is an internet full of resources to read but a good starting point is our own AEMO site. Here is a link and extracts from the 2022 ISP.

By 2025, the availability of renewable generation will exceed customer demand at times. This underscores
AEMO's priority to develop power systems that are capable of running at up to 100% instantaneous
renewable penetration by 2025 to deliver reliable and affordable energy to consumers. The share of potential
resource that is actually dispatched depends on a range of market factors.

Through the next decade, the NEM must deliver a once-in-a-century transformation in the way electricity is
generated and consumed in Australia. That transformation is essential for the Australian economy to enjoy
affordable and reliable energy in the future, as well as achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Take note of the DER (Distributed Energy Resources) and Coordinated DER. This includes EV battery storage.

DER describes consumer-owned devices that can generate or store electricity as individual units and,
increasingly in future, may have the ‘smarts’ to actively manage energy demand. This includes small-scale
embedded generation such as residential and commercial rooftop PV systems (less than 100 kilowatts [kW]),
PV non-scheduled generation (NSG, up to 30 megawatts [MW]), distributed battery storage, VPPs and EVs.
