JAC have a Yiwei model carrying a lithium free battery model selling in China for US $12,600.00- pricey in China I suppose. Its range is 250 km. Some experts say that lithium free vehicle batteries might rival lithium ones in 10 years but there will probably always be a range problem. Sodium weighs 3 times as much as lithium - I don’t know if total battery weight in a vehicle is significantly greater if it’s using non lithium batteries. Total environmental cost of producing non lithium batteries is said to be significantly higher too impacting on zero carbon goals.
