"The fourth power law (also known as the fourth power rule) states that the greater the axle load of a vehicle, the stress on the road caused by the motor vehicle increases in proportion to the fourth power of the axle load. This law was discovered in the course of a series of scientific experiments in the United States in the late 1950s and was decisive for the development of standard construction methods in road construction.["
So this is about the stress applied. No mention of damage. If one applies less to an item than it was designed and constructed for, there is NO DAMAGE. Eg think towball rated at 1.6T trying to tow 3.5T and vice versa...
The second link is pure green / BEV propaganda, no point reading past first paragraph
The third link looks like a whinge piece with very little hard evidence other than councils cutting corners when building roads. If the road is designed to bear the weight as the third article talks about civil engineers using the fourth power rule in their designs, then there is no issue,
Switching to EV's creates a hazard called lithium fires... They cannot be extinguished and if water is added, the run off is more toxic than the black smoke and achieves nothing more than putting firies in danger. Two EV's colliding is worst case and the more of them on the roads, the higher the likelihood is of it occurring. There is no magic forcefield around Tesla's...
So now are you a civil engineer who doesnt wanna work as hard or are you an EV protagonist with a childish attitude that you might have to pay your way in what your mind thinks is disproportionate to another (guessing 1000% more useful) road user? Mommy, why does he get to pay less road tax than me?! Well son, he's actually useful to society and you arent....
