I guess it all depends on your definition of long range, I would argue that 600km would fit the bill and there are already a few that qualify there. If you are looking at much more than 600km you run into the law of diminishing returns with battery weight using current battery chemistries but solid state Lithium should reach economically viable mass production soon and the EV haters will have to find something else to yap about because no sane person will be able to complain about range after SSBs arrive on the scene.
